Musings on bloody age

So the next season of Ashes to Ashes is coming out soon. What they've been saying about it is that it's going to take place six months after the last series ended, put them smack in the middle of the Falklands War, etc, etc... Once my math brain finally caught up with that statement, it smacked into me: six months after the last series ended would put the show taking place in April of 1982.

It has now been officially declared that the year I was born in has been declared 'retro'. *facepalm* Happy April Fool's Day to me.... *headdesk*

On a funnier note, I'm having a good time laughing at drunken!Kitty. Not really drunken, but she was spayed yesterday and is still dopey from the anesthesia. It's surprisingly amusing.

Oh I wouldn't worry too much love - at least it's the year you were born...I, on the other hand, was 22 at the time! *headdesk*

Let the good times roll...and all that.

drunken!Kittys are most definitely amusing...to say the least. I couldn't stop when my two boys were de-balled (as my son lovingly puts it)and watching them stagger about trying to play with each other whilst still groggy was, quite frankly, very mirth-making :D

*puts pillow under the head doing the desking* No damage on my account, please. :) I like your statement there, let the good times roll...and I like to think I'm following it. :)

De-balled? *giggles like an immature kid* But oh my god, yes, so amusing! I only have the one kitten here, but it was more like:

*attempt to walk*
*wobble again*
*fall into litter box*

Too cute.

I was being potty-trained at the time. At least I have a couple more years before I have to be the trainer....

We're gettin' ooooooold. But you are absolutely correct there, no potty training just yet. However, when the babe's learning to walk, you do realize you have to get him/her the tiniest pair of Chucks you can find, right? *g* Because that would be adorable. ;)

Do you ever watch Cold Case? Cause on that show, even the late 90s are retro. I'm just saying, it's all relative.

Oh pets on drugs. You feel so bad for them, but then they're funny and you can't help yourself. Are they making her wear one of those awful lampshades? When my dog was spayed, she had to wear one and I tried *so* desperately not to laugh...but I did. Really hard.

No, I'm not really familiar with Cold Case...but if they're considering the late 90s retro now I'm scared. I remember the late 90s, being stuck in the pit of hell that is high school. Not exactly a golden age for popular culture (although we did get the X-Files out of it, so that's something). Gah...

Oh god, so funny. I didn't want to laugh either, but I think when she tipped over into the litter box it put me over the edge. She didn't have to wear one of the lampshades - I did get one for her though, just in case. Apparently her biological sister kitten ripped out the stitches from her surgery the next day. There's a reason why we nicknamed that kitten Bruiser...

They do it by exaggerating fashion trends and playing some song that was iconic for that year. I'm pretty sure that one ep featured Baby One More Time. *shudders*

Oh, she fell into the litter box? That's adorable. They just look so befuddled when they're stoned...Sad about her sister, though. We had to get the lampshade for my dog because she licked the incision so much she reopened it. So, she hates the lampshade, but it's better for everyone.

Ah, I started freaking out a few years ago when TMNT, Transformers and snap bands and other things from my childhood (that I am now apparently too old and forgetful to remember) suddenly became popular again.

poor drunken!Kitty - we humans are so mean, first we ship them off to the vets to be de-sexed, then we laugh at their drugged state. But they usually are entirely amusing (although I always worry about stitches being pulled if they're too dopey).
