Another meme

I don't do these often, but when it relates to music I cannot resist. Swiped from sopdetly.

Open your playlist, pick songs that start with each letter of your username, but, the songs have to mean something to you. Don't just pick a song because it starts with a letter in your username. Post the list to your journal.

I--"I Really Hope", which is my favorite song by The Cranberries. I discovered this song, so to speak, when I was staying in Italy, and the song will therefore always be associated with that wonderful time. That and for some strange reason the song always brings to mind Sirius Black. *shrug*

O--"Omnes Gentes Plaudite", by Mediaeval Baebes, one of my all time fave groups EVAR. The song's in Middle English with a techno-ish beat, and just so fun. It's subtitled 'The Drinking Song', which I think says it all.

A--"Ardera Sempre", by Miranda Sex Garden. Gothy and spooky and operatic, it's just so unique, I've never heard anything like it, and it's totally addictive.

E--"Eyes Like Yours", by Shakira. I prefer the Spanish version personally (but I already had a song for 'O' on the list. With this one, I adore the music, it's got a very Middle Eastern beat to it and even has some words in Arabic in it. This song always gets the blood moving and the muse inspired.

N--"New Moon On Monday", by Duran Duran. It's by Duran Duran. If you know me, 'nuff said. :D

A"Adam Lay Ibounden" by the Baebes once more (but only their version. The music on the typical classical versions of this song I don't care for). It's the words with this one that really get me. I'm fascinated by the idea of actually celebrating Adam's fall and eating of the Apple because it leads to the existence of Mary (worship of the Great Mother, maybe?). It's a very pagan idea, and yet this song is one of the older hymns/christmas songs out there. Love it.

R--"Roland the Headless Thompson Gunner", by Warren Zevon. I love Warren. I am partially convinced he is Stubby Boardman, but that may be only in my head. This song captures him well, from that quirky and dark sense of humor, to his talent for telling stories through song.

I--"Isabella", by Mediaeval Baebes again. The song is interesting, about a girl dreaming of the fairy world, fun to sing, and it's in Italian too.

A--"All Souls Night", by Loreena McKennitt. Dude, it's a song about Halloween that mentions the Green Knight in there. Very Celtic and Earthy, just makes you want to get up and dance and celebrate.

ETA: This was bloody hard. There are a lot of runner-ups on my playlist that couldn't make this list for various reasons. These were the songs though from those letters that really impacted me in some way or another though, so even though it may be a little repetitive, hopefully it makes some sense. Thanks for reading!
