I Assure You We're Open

Went and saw Clerks II today (sucked it up and went by myself because my desire to see the movie override my dislike of going to movies by myself) and it was sooooooooooooo good. I mean, I knew I was going to like it anyway because Kevin Smith is the local boy done good and therefore anything he does is teh good. But it went far above and beyond my expectations, dealing with the guys twelve years later and feeling like the world has left them behind. I think it hit close to home for me because I can see myself and my friends in Dante and Randal, wondering what the hell we're going to do with our lives next? It's the power of being best friends, what can I say. I won't spoil the movie for anyone (aside from saying if you get a little squicky about bestiality, there's one scene you may want to advert your eyes for until it cuts away) but I left the movie smiling like an idiot and have kept doing so all day.

And dude, it took place in Jersey. The mothership. They drove down a road I traveled myself nearly every day I lived there and pointed and giggled. And of-fucking-course, they had to put the whacking off clown in there. Only in Jersey.

Go see it now. :)

Hi! :D Hehe, I'm even proud of myself for this one. I did say I was going to post more and now that I've had time to sit down and breathe (Dad was visiting for a few days to help with the car, so I pretty much haven't been home nights until now), and Clerks is the perfect thing to start off with. Hope things are all going well with you! :)

I love going to movies by myself now. It was odd the first couple times, but now it's a very - enjoying my space - kind of thing to do, if that makes sense. Personal freedom or something.

Things are going fairly well with me, wonderfully well in RL, though the next few weekends are going to be very full of things to do, like the Renaissance Faire.

How 'bout you?

It does make sense, in a strange sort of way. I didn't have to explain why I was laughing at things that weren't funny in the general context of the movie, but that's a minor bit, I guess.

I'm very glad things are going well! Oooh, Renaissance Faire. Love those. Things have been okay with me--not real exciting, just sort of existing for right now. Work's dull, friends are good, and I'm going to Ohio over Labor Day. Those are the highlights. ;)

Hello. Just wanted to tell you that I added you to my flist, if you hadn't seen already. Glad you liked Clerks 2 so much. I haven't had a chance to see it yet, but it's definitely on my list. *hugs*

Hiya hon! *hugs back* I did notice when I finally got a chance to sign onto LJ (which was Saturday--had quite a busy week, but now have new wheels, so it was worth it). How are things going with you? Did the move go all right?

Also, knowing what a fan of BBCA and Shakespeare you are, did you see that Shakespeare Retold thingy they had on last night? If so, what did you think??

New wheels are always good. Not that I've ever had any wheels at all, of course. But they sound fun.

The move was absolute hell, but at least it's over now. :)

No, I didn't. I haven't actually been watching much TV lately. I have a roommate now, so there's something else to keep me entertained.
